TigerlilyTigerlily started to take Eygptian bellydance lessons in 2002 with Celia Buchan of Borders Arabic Dance, she fell in love with the dance and continues taking lessons with this group. In 2006 she saw Rachel Brice (American Tribal Fusion bellydancer) who was touring with the BDSS (Bellydance Superstars) for the first time in Edinburgh, Scotland and fell in love with this style. Later in the same year she saw Laura Montieth the leader of Sarasvati Tribal perform in a local show and realised that this style was available in Scotland. She was entranced and wanted to learn more. She was so obessed with the dance style,that she watched every available video, DVD and website to learn about the style and its history. She attended Raqs Britannia in 2007 for the first time and was able to meet Rachel Brice but unable to take any of her workshops. She was also invited to audition for the first time (age 16). Since then she has taken various workshops with different teachers learning different elements including Sherri Wheatley, Sharon Kihara, Samantha Emanuel, Kami Liddle, Moria Chappell, Ariellah, Rachel Brice and Amy Sigil (Unmata). She also taken lessons and workshops in Bollywood, Flamenco, Hilal dance, Polynesian and Haka dance. Other teachers have included Yasmina of Cairo, Leila of Cairo, Lubna, Shafeek Ibrahim, Khaled Mahmoud, Maria D' Sliva and Aziza. More recently Tigerlily attended Edinburgh Telford College 2009-2010 and passed her Professional Stage Dance at BTEC level. This covered background dancing in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop and a touch of Tap. Tigerlily performs often as a soloist and as part of Sarasvati Tribal till 2012. Having left college she recently joined Tracey Gibbs Agency 'Taste of Cairo' based in Manchester.
